Now that you've purchased your mp3 player, you're ready to take your listening experience to the next level with the right accessories. What to choose though? There are so many accessories out there that it's difficult wading through them all to choose the best mp3 accessories for you. Use this as a guide to help you select the items you need.
Cases
Mp3 players need to be handled carefully. Drop your player once and it may never function the same way again. In order to protect your investment, you will need a case. You can find a case for whatever brand of mp3 player you have. They are usually made of silicon, metal or plastic. Silicon cases are the lightest of the three and they will prevent scratches but will not protect your player from being accidentally crushed. For more protection, choose a metal or plastic case. If you choose these cases, you can prevent scratches to the body of the player with a skin and protect the display with a screen protector.
Armband case
I don't know about you, but it would be too irritating to have to hold my player when I go jogging. If I put it in my pocket, I'd be worrying that it would fall out or get damaged. An armband case assures comfort - and peace of mind - when you go exercising with your mp3 player. Just slip your mp3 player into the armband case, adjust the strap, and get going.
Speakers and Docks
Headphones and earbuds hurt the ears after a while so it's nice to have other options. When you are home, you can connect your mp3 player to speakers. Some speakers are attached to a docking station that recharges player and connect it to your computer. Mp3 speakers are also available in portable sizes.
Charger
Common methods of recharging your mp3 player when you're away from home are with an A/C charger, automobile charger or battery backup devices. You plug the automobile charger into your cigarette lighter.
FM transmitters
You may be wondering how you can continue to enjoy your mp3 player once you get into your car. FM transmitters plug into the headphone jack in newer cars and broadcast the music on an empty FM station. To get the most for your money, look for one that comes with a charger.
Remote Controls
Who would have thought that you would need a remote control for your mp3 player? Not that you need it but it just makes things so much easier. Have you ever had to dig into your pocket or purse for your player, selected a song, thrown it back in and then had to repeat the process later on? Well, after you connect your remote to your player and then connect your headphones to the remote, you'll never have to do that again. Wireless remotes are a godsend if you dock your player at home, use it in the car, or use an armband case.
headphones
Of course, there are many choices when it comes to headphones, from noise-canceling to wireless headphones. There are earbuds too. Whatever you choose, make sure it's something you can stand to wear for a while.
A word of advice when selecting your accessories: read the reviews. There are many shopping sites with user reviews, like Amazon. You can save yourself some future annoyance if you find out what other peoples experiences have been with an accessory before you buy it. Good luck!
