The market equivalent to the SanDisk Sansa Fuze 4 GB would be the Apple iPod Nano. Most of the comparisons will be made between these two models. First of all, the Fuze has a 1.9-inch display screen (versus Apple's 2" screen). Although they are roughly of the same size, I prefer the configuration of the Sansa screen. To better view some videos in the wide screen format, you will need to try the iPod sideways. With the SanDisk model, you can watch it upright.
The Sansa Fuze 4GB weighs at just 2.1 ounces, which makes it very portable. The front of the MP3 player has a high-gloss surface while the back of the player Is made of a matte, tough rubbery material that is not prone to fingerprints and scratches. It comes in pink, blue, black, silver and red.
On the side of the player, you will find the power switch and a micro SD card slot that is very handy. As for navigation, it has a rotating wheel in the middle, very much like the ones found on iPods. Here the wheel actually physically rotates and there is a ring of light around it. Despite its size, this MP3 player is full of surprising features. For instance, while you are listening to the radio, you can record the music that is currently playing on the station. This device also doubles as a voice recorder.
The SanDisk Sansa Fuze 4 GB has a decent battery life, with up to 24 hours of music playback and 5 hours of video. Another unique feature is that you can delete a song right on the player (with the iPod you will need to plug it to a PC). It charges using a USB cord and you don't need to have any drivers installed before you plug it to the PC. It ships with a set of earphones, a USB 2.0 cable cord and a quick start guide.
